The MUSEUM SAN KELLER is a privately funded museum dedicated to San Keller´s work. About half the area is also home to the collectors´ furniture.
In 1991 there was a crucial encounter between the Bernese collectors husband and wife Marianne and Fritz Keller and the artist San Keller (Stefan Keller). This took place in his studio, which then was still located in their apartment. The artist’s works deeply impressed Marianne and Fritz Keller, but soon after the said encounter the artist left home. The collectors left the remaining pictures in their original place.
These works form the basis for the museum´s collection, which since then has been continually growing. Giovanni Carmine (director Kunsthalle St. Gallen) and San Keller advise in important questions relating to the museum.
